Where is Springbrook?

Springbrook is a village community on Springbrook Plateau in the Gold Coast Hinterland, South-East Queensland, Australia.

From high vantage one gets views of the Gold Coast, of northern NSW  and Lamington National Park to the west across the Numinbah Valley

Springbrook is less than one hour’s drive from universities on the Gold Coast and 1.5 to 3 hour’s drive from universities in Brisbane (the Queensland capital), the Sunshine Coast and Lismore in northern New South Wales.

The majority of about 250 people resident on Springbrook are concentrated in two small village areas (Purling Brook and The Canyon) with the remaining areas being in various stages of regeneration since clearing in the early 1900’s.

The nearest towns are Nerang, Mudgeeraba and Beechmont within an hour’s drive. On the Gold Coast are Southport, Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads and Currumbin. On the New South Wales side are Murwillumbah, Brunswick Heads and Byron Bay.

Springbrook is part of a nationally recognised Biodiversity Hotspot, Border Ranges North and South (Queensland and New South Wales)
