Support the Springbrook Rainforest Restoration Project

Due to many years of ARCS advocacy, as well as financial contributions by donors, the Queensland Government has invested millions of dollars in buying back properties of very high conservation value on the Springbrook plateau under the Springbrook Buyback Program. Many of these properties are being managed by ARCS by agreement with the Queensland Government to regenerate and restore the rainforest canopy.

To acquire, protect and restore these precious rainforest areas depends on community support, and the task is getting urgent due to escalating development and climate change pressures.

The Springbrook Rainforest Restoration Project is wholly funded by donations, volunteers and the profits of two accommodation businesses managed by ARCS on land acquired by the Queensland Government to support and underwrite this historic process of rainforest regeneration.

To support this vital work..

  • Make a tax-deductible donation to Springbrook Rescue or to ARCS Rainforest Fund.

  • Join or support Grass to Gondwana the first ever rainforest restoration competition. Community groups or organisations interested in entering a team can download the competition Information Pack here. To lodge an expression of interest fill out this form by 14 August 2026.

  • Volunteer with the Springbrook Rainforest Restoration Project.

  • Spend a romantic weekend in beautiful rainforest cabins at Springbrook Lyrebird Retreat.

  • Have your school or community group conference or retreat at the Koonjewarre Centre.

  • All profits from these two accommodation businesses go to rainforest protection and regeneration works on the Springbrook plateau.
